Broccoli Beef Lo Mein

Tender beef with broccoli, lo mein noodles and teriyaki sauce in 25 minutes!

    Step1

    Start a pot of water boiling for the lo mein noodles. Follow the cooking instructions on the packaging. Lo mein noodles cook very quickly, quicker than pasta. Keep an eye on them and don't start them too soon.

    Step2

    Thinly slice beef. I used a flank steak. Cut the steak against the grain, this will ensure that the meat comes out tender. If you have trouble getting the meat thin, cover the slices with plastic wrap, using a kitchen hammer tenderizer, pound the meat thinner. Season the meat with salt and pepper.

    Step3

    In a large skillet with sides add 2 tablespoons of vegetable or olive oil. Heat on medium. Sauté the meat in batches so that it doesn't crowd the pan. Set meat aside.

    Step4

    Sauté broccoli in the same pan for a few minutes. Then add in the beef broth. Cook broccoli until it starts to soften.

    Step5

    Add in garlic, sautéing for a couple minutes. Then add the meat back to the skillet and teriyaki glaze, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Stir fry until combined.

    Step6

    Add the drained cooked noodles to the skillet and toss until combined and coated in the sauce.
